Ceiling and exhaust fan installation, replacement and wiring by licensed electricians. Balanced, quiet operation, wall or remote control, and summer/winter mode set up before we leave.
A good ceiling fan is one of the cheapest ways to stay comfortable all year, and a properly ducted exhaust fan keeps bathrooms and laundries free of steam and mould. We install, replace and wire both, and we set up every fan properly so it runs quietly and doesn't wobble.
New ceiling fans with or without a light, fixed securely to the ceiling structure and wired to their own switch or controller.
Swap a noisy, wobbly or broken fan for a new one, reusing the existing wiring where it's safe and suitable.
Turn an existing ceiling light into a fan with a light, after checking the wiring and the ceiling support.
Bathroom, laundry and kitchen exhaust fans, ducted to the outside so moisture doesn't end up in your roof space.
Wall controllers, remotes and smart options, including separate switching for the fan and the light.
Blades balanced for smooth, quiet running, and the reverse function set up so you get the right airflow in every season.
The biggest choice when buying a ceiling fan is the motor type. Here's how they compare:
Not sure which suits your room? We'll recommend a fan based on the room size, ceiling height and how you plan to use it, or install one you've already bought. Our ceiling fan installation guide covers sizing and features in more detail.
Most ceiling fans can run in both directions. In summer, set the blades to push air down, which is usually anticlockwise when you look up, to create a cooling breeze. In winter, reverse them and run the fan on low, so warm air that collects near the ceiling is gently pushed back down the walls into the room. We'll show you how to switch modes on your controller before we leave.
Exhaust fans clear steam and odours before they cause mould, peeling paint and damp. Fans should be ducted to the outside rather than into the roof space, where the moisture can build up and cause condensation and mould. We size the fan for the room, run the ducting to an external vent, and can link the fan to the light or fit a run-on timer so it keeps clearing the room after you leave.
We look at where the fan is going, the ceiling type and height, and the existing wiring, then give you a fixed price.
The fan is fixed to a joist or a proper brace rated for its weight and movement, never just to the plasterboard.
We run the cabling and install your wall controller, remote or smart switch, with separate fan and light control if you want it.
We test every speed, the light and the reverse function, and balance the blades so the fan runs quietly without wobbling.
We show you how to use the controls and switch between summer and winter mode, clean up, and issue your Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.
Usually, yes. We check the existing wiring and make sure the ceiling can support the fan. If the light point isn't suitable, we add proper support or run a new cable.
Most manufacturers require the blades to sit at least 2.1 metres above the floor. For high or raked ceilings we use an extension rod so the fan sits at the right height.
Yes. We can install a wall controller with separate fan and light controls, a remote, or both.
It's usually unbalanced blades, a loose mounting bracket or loose blade screws. We tighten and rebalance the fan, or replace it if the motor is worn out.
Outside. Venting into the roof space puts moist air where it can cause condensation and mould, so we duct the fan to an external vent.
Yes. We install fans you've bought elsewhere, or we can recommend and supply one to suit the room.
